School History

            The National Taipei University of Education Affiliated Experimental Elementary School was established in 1907. It was originally known as Da Long Tong Da-An Branch Elementary School. The name was changed to Taipei Normal School Affiliated Elementary School in 1945. The first principal was Wang Hong-nian. Miss Tan Da-shi became the Principal in 1955. The school was renamed Provincial Taipei Normal Professional School Affiliated Elementary School in 1963. In 1977, Professor Tsai Yi-hsiung from Taiwan Provincial Taipei Normal Professional School became the Principal, and in the same year the schoolˇ¦s name was changed to Taiwan Provincial Taipei Normal School Affiliated Laboratory Elementary School. In 1987, the name of Taiwan Provincial Taipei Normal Professional School was changed to Taiwan Provincial Taipei Normal College, and the name of the school was change to Taiwan Provincial Taipei Normal College Affiliated Laboratory Elementary School. In 1990, Associate Professor Zhong Qing from Taiwan Provincial Taipei Normal College was named as Principal. In 1991, Taiwan Provincial Taipei Normal College became a national college, and the school was renamed as National Taipei Normal College Affiliated Laboratory Elementary School. In 1998, Associate Professor Huang Jia-hsiung of National Taipei Normal College became the Principal. In 2001, Associate professor Chen Bi-Hsiang of National Taipei Normal College became the Principal. In 2005, National Taipei Normal College was changed into a university of education. The school was renamed National Taipei University of Education Affiliated Experimental Elementary School. In 2007, Lin Jing-shan became the Principal.

 

Current Resources and Educational Environment

            The National Taipei University of Education Affiliated Experimental Elementary School is located He-Ping East Road in Taipei City. The school is located near the Technology Building Information Science Exhibition Center, National Taipei University of Education, and National Taiwan University. The school is walking distance to many additional instructional resources such as Da-An Forest Park, Huangˇ¦s old Residence, and the Water Museum. With convenient access to the MRT at the Technology Building Station, it is easy to visit many additional teaching locations in and around Taipei City. The campus was designed to provide a good teaching and learning environment. The school maintains a safe and healthy environment for children. In addition, the administration has continuously upgraded the information processing environment for safe and effective management of school data.

 

Future Development of the School

The National Taipei University of Education Affiliated Experimental Elementary School has the following plans for future development:

1. To establish a more environmentally-aware and eco-friendly campus.

            1.1 To improve the school environment by adding more trees, bushes, and plants and to use the available environmental resources for instructional activities.

            1.2 To build a rain collection system on the roof to collect rainwater, to recycle natural resources, and to build a healthy environment on campus.

2. To build an experimental humanities school.

            2.1 To improve studentsˇ¦ language ability by building a bi-lingual curriculum, to invite more foreign teachers, to build real life situations into the curriculum, and to foster a love of language and learning.

            2.2 To encourage parent-child reading activities, to develop studentsˇ¦ writing ability, to start a childrenˇ¦s poem reading activity, to integrate composition into the curriculum, to improve teacherˇ¦s and studentsˇ¦ interest in the humanities.
